A bit about me
I trained as a fine artist at the Byam Shaw School of Drawing and Painting; however my love of photography and film and being set to work as a location scout on Barry Lyndon by my father, led me to follow a career in the Art Department of the feature film industry.
I worked on many films [ Barry Lyndon, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, Midnight Express, Sphinx, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, Supergirl, The Dark Crystal] where I was variously employed as a location photographer, draughtswoman, set dresser, scenic artist, Prop designer/maker, and set designer.
Marriage and three sons meant I had to stop working in the film business, so I returned to my first love, oil painting.
In 1999 I developed a bad case of RSI and for 4 years I could no longer hold a paintbrush for any length of time, so I had to re evaluate in what direction my creative nature would take me.
I had a little experience of working with silver when I was at school, so I took a short residential jewellery class. Thereafter I took classes and had tutorials with various master goldsmiths and slowly built up my own workshop.
I discovered the joy of using various tools and methods to turn precious metals into wearable ‘art’.
As I continue to explore the possibilities of working with silver and gold, my designs change, and most of my pieces are one off designs, as I hate to repeat myself. Most of the rings I make cannot be resized as they either have stones or are too complex in construction. Please be very sure of finger size before ordering
Every piece of jewellery will have been hallmarked at the London Assay Office
